Whirr
Whirr (originally known as Whirl) is an American shoegaze band from Modesto, California. Formed in 2010, the group currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Loren Rivera, guitarists Nick Bassett and Joseph Bautista, bassist Eddie Salgado, and drummer Devin Nunes. History Originally known as Whirl, the band had to legally change its name after a woman performing acoustic covers of Black Sabbath songs trademarked the name and threatened a lawsuit. Whirr's shoegaze sound is often compared to My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. The band underwent numerous personnel changes before settling on their current lineup in 2013. Whirr self-released a demo cassette and the EP ''Distressor'' before signing to Tee Pee Records in 2011. The band released ''June'' that year, followed by their 2012 debut album, ''Pipe Dreams''. The latter was met with a generally positive reception from music critics. On October 16 of the same year, the band released a split with Anne on Run for Cover Records ...

Nick Bassett (musician)
Nick Bassett is an American musician and record producer from Modesto, California. He was the bassist of shoegaze band Nothing and is the lead guitarist of shoegaze band Whirr. He also played guitar in the original lineup of blackgaze band Deafheaven. Career Bassett formed Whirl in October 2009. The band changed its name to Whirr after a musician also named Whirl trademarked the name and threatened legal action. Bassett wrote demo versions of songs and showed them to the other members, after which they decided to play shoegazing-influenced music. Bassett played bass for Philadelphia shoegaze band Nothing from 2013 to 2018. Prior to his joining, Whirr had toured with Nothing in the spring of 2013, during which he collaborated with Nothing frontman Domenic Palermo on a goth-influenced side project called Death of Lovers. Whirr / Nothing
''Whirr / Nothing'' is a split EP by the American shoegaze bands Whirr and Nothing, released on November 17, 2014 by Run for Cover. The EP was released digitally as well as in 12-inch vinyl format with an etched B-side packaged with a documentary DVD. Nothing announced the EP in February 2014, prior to the release of its debut album '' Guilty of Everything'', describing the split release as "very accessible" and noting a tentative release date of early 2014. Nothing released a music video for the track "Chloroform" on the date that the EP was released. Critical reception AllMusic critic Tim Sendra wrote: "The EP is a nice little capper for a tremendous year and presents a strong case that Nothing and Whirr are the best noise-soaked, '90s-worshiping, pedal-hopping guitar bands around". Sway (Whirr Album)
''Sway'' is the second studio album by American shoegaze band Whirr, released on September 23, 2014 by Graveface Records. The album marked the departure of previous lead singer Alexandra Morte, as well as the first release with Devin Nunes who replaced Sergio Miranda on drums. It was produced by Jack Shirley. Release and reception On July 11, 2014, the band released the song "Mumble" on SoundCloud as a preview of the new album. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, Sway received an average score of 74, based on six reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews". Tim Sendra of AllMusic noted that ''Sways sound had taken a large influence from Nick Bassett's presence, "inch ngthem closer to the harder side of the shoegaze revival (right next to Bassett's other band, Nothing, in fact)". Nothing is an American shoegaze band formed in 2010 by vocalist-guitarist Domenic "Nicky" Palermo. The band has had a revolving lineup throughout its career, with Palermo being the sole constant member following the departure of longtime guitarist-vocalist Brandon Setta in 2019. The two guitarists shared songwriting duties during Setta's tenure in Nothing. The band self-released several EPs before signing to Relapse Records. Camera Shy was an American indie pop band from Oakland, California. The duo consisted of instrumentalist Nick Bassett (also of Whirr and formerly of Nothing) and vocalist Alexandra Morte (also of Night School and formerly of Whirr). They released two EPs and one full-length album. History Camera Shy was formed in 2014. Kristina Esfandiari (born 4 March 1988) is an American singer-songwriter and music producer. She writes music and performs under the monikers Dalmatian, Miserable, and NGHTCRWLR, and with the bands King Woman and Sugar High. Early life Kristina Esfandiari was born to immigrant parents, an Iranian father and a Serbian mother. They raised her in a Charismatic Christianity, Charismatic Christian church.
