''Wheel World'' is an adventure game, adventure racing game developed by Messhof and published by Annapurna Interactive. The game was released on July 23, 2025 for Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Gameplay ''Wheel World'' is an adventure video game played from a third-person perspective. In the game, the player assumes control of Kat, a cyclist "chosen by ancient cycling spirits" who must collect legendary bicycle parts to perform a ritual that saves the world. Players can explore several open world, large regions while riding on Kat's bike, and encounter various non-playable characters. As they progress, they will earn "Rep" through challenging other characters in a race, and performing Freestyle BMX, difficult tricks with Kat's bike. The bike can also be extensively customized with various parts, which can further improve its performance while navigating difficult terrain. Messhof
Mark Essen, better known as Messhof, is an American video game designer and artist best known for '' Nidhogg'', its sequel, and '' Flywrench''. He is currently developing a new game, '' Wheel World''. Career In college, Messhof made games with GameMaker and Microsoft Paint software. An early game, ''Punishment 1'', began as a group assignment in an advanced, experimental class. His other early games included ''Wally'', ''Bool'', ''Booloid'', ''Punishment 2'', and '' Flywrench'', uploaded on his website. His work was profiled in The Creators Project and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, and shown in the New York New Museum, Toronto Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, and Liverpool Foundation for Art and Creative Technology. He was cited by a Savannah College of Art and Design instructor as a successful example of blending arts aesthetics and video games.
