The Tams
The Tams are an United States, American list of vocal groups, vocal group from Atlanta, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, who enjoyed their greatest record chart, chart success in the 1960s, but continued to chart in the 1970s, and the 1980s. Two separate lineups of the group continue to perform and record. One lineup, called 'The Original Tams with R. L. Smith', features original member Robert Lee Smith, and the other lineup is under the leadership of Little Red, the son of longtime member Charles Pope and the nephew of group co-founder Joe Pope. FAME Studios
FAME (Florence Alabama Music Enterprises) Studios is a recording studio located at 603 East Avalon Avenue in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, United States, an area of northern Alabama known as the Shoals. Though small and distant from the main recording locations of the American music industry, FAME has produced many hit records and was instrumental in what came to be known as the Muscle Shoals sound. It was started in the 1950s by Rick Hall, known as the Founder of Muscle Shoals Music. The studio, owned by Hall until his death in 2018, is still actively operating. It was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on December 15, 1997, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. ''Rock On!'' is an album by the American musician Del Shannon, released posthumously in October 1991. Edsel Records included the album in the 2023 ''Stranger in Town: A Del Shannon Compendium'' box set. Production The album was produced by Mike Campbell and Jeff Lynne. Shannon unexpectedly committed suicide in February 1990 with work on the album mostly complete. Tom Petty and some of the Heartbreakers played on ''Rock On!'' Richard Greene played the fiddle on "Let's Dance". " What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am?" is a cover of the Tams song. Charles Weedon Westover (December 30, 1934 – February 8, 1990), better known by his stage name Del Shannon, was an American musician, singer and songwriter, best known for his 1961 number-one ''Billboard'' hit " Runaway", which was covered later by various major artists including Elvis Presley and the Traveling Wilburys. David Briggs (American Musician)
David Paul Briggs (March 16, 1943 – April 22, 2025) was an American keyboardist, record producer, arranger, composer and studio owner. Briggs was one of an elite core of Nashville studio musicians known as "the Nashville Cats" and was featured in a major exhibition by the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015. He played his first recording session at the age of 14 and went on to add keyboards to a plethora of pop, rock, and country artists, as well as recording hundreds of corporate commercials. He was born in Killen, Alabama. Life and career In May 1966, he was given the opportunity of recording on sessions for Elvis Presley's album ''How Great Thou Art'' when Floyd Cramer was running late.
