We–Galician Candidacy ( gl, Nós–Candidatura Galega) was an electoral alliance of Galician nationalist parties formed ahead of the 2015 Spanish general election by the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG), Galician Coalition (CG), Galicianist Party (PG), Communist Party of the Galician People (PCPG) and Galician Workers' Front (FOGA). The alliance failed in securing parliamentary representation in the general election, leaving the BNG out of the Congress of Deputies for the first time in 20 years. Galician Nationalism
Galician nationalism is a form of nationalism found mostly in Galicia, which asserts that Galicians are a nation and that promotes the cultural unity of Galicians. The political movement referred to as modern Galician nationalism was born at the beginning of the twentieth century from the idea of Galicianism. Ideology Historians, geographers and ethnologists recognize the existence of a Galician ethnic group, forming a singular unit in a specific territory. However, this is a wide conceptualization that in political terms allows many possible variants. Junta Electoral Central
The Junta Electoral Central (JEC) is the electoral commission for elections in Spain, monitoring and registering provincial elections, district elections, those of self-governing districts and general elections. It supervises the vote at polling stations. Its mission is to "ensure the transparency of the electoral process and monitor the performance of the Electoral Census Office." This is the results breakdown of the Congress of Deputies election held in Spain on 20 December 2015. The following tables show detailed results in each of the country's 17 autonomous communities and in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, as well as a summary of constituency and regional results. Electoral system 348 members of the Congress of Deputies were elected using the D'Hondt method and a closed list proportional representation, with an electoral threshold of three percent of valid votes—which included blank ballots—being applied in each constituency. The D'Hondt method might result in a higher effective threshold, depending on the district magnitude. Seats were allocated to constituencies, corresponding to the provinces of Spain, with each being allocated an initial minimum of two seats and the remaining 248 being distributed in proportion to their populations.
