Wexler (crater)
Wexler is a lunar impact crater that lies across the south-southeast limb of the Moon. In this location not much detail about the formation can be discerned from the Earth, and it must be viewed from orbit to see most of the structure. It lies about a hundred kilometers northwards of the larger crater Hale, and south-southeast of Petrov. The rim of this crater retains much of its original structure, although the features have become softened and worn in comparison to the younger Hale. Lunar Orbiter 4
Lunar Orbiter 4 was a robotic U.S. spacecraft, part of the Lunar Orbiter program, Lunar Orbiter Program, designed to orbit the Moon, after the three previous orbiters had completed the required needs for Project Apollo, Apollo mapping and site selection. It was given a more general objective, to "perform a broad systematic photographic survey of lunar surface features in order to increase the scientific knowledge of their nature, origin, and processes, and to serve as a basis for selecting sites for more detailed scientific study by subsequent orbital and landing missions". It was also equipped to collect selenodetic, radiation intensity, and micrometeoroid impact data. Polygon

Palimpsest
In textual studies, a palimpsest () is a manuscript page, either from a scroll or a book, from which the text has been scraped or washed off in preparation for reuse in the form of another document. Parchment was made of lamb, calf, or kid skin and was expensive and not readily available, so, in the interest of economy, a page was often re-used by scraping off the previous writing. In colloquial usage, the term ''palimpsest'' is also used in architecture, archaeology and geomorphology to denote an object made or worked upon for one purpose and later reused for another; for example, a monumental brass the reverse blank side of which has been re-engraved. Petrov (crater)
Petrov is an impact crater along the southeastern limb of the Moon. The crater is difficult to observe in this location, and visibility of this feature is affected by libration. The nearest crater of note is Chamberlin, just on the far side to the northeast. Somewhat farther to the west-southwest of Petrov is Gill. The rim of this crater has been worn and eroded by impacts, leaving an irregular ring of ridges and incisions along the inner wall. The smaller crater Petrov A intrudes slightly into the southern rim. Along the southeast, Petrov B is attached to the southeastern exterior and the two are joined by a narrow valley. The interior floor of Petrov has been completely resurfaced by basaltic lava, leaving a low-albedo surface that is relatively smooth and featureless. Hale (lunar Crater)
Hale is a relatively young lunar impact crater that is located on the southern limb of the Moon. Over half the crater lies on the far side of the Moon, and from the Earth this formation is viewed from the side. Thus the crater must be viewed from orbit in order to discern much detail. The nearest crater of note is Wexler to the north. To the east on the far side is the huge walled plain Schrödinger, and to the southwest is the crater Demonax. The rim of Hale is well-defined, with little wear from later impacts, but has a somewhat irregular, notched perimeter.
