Westover Composite Squadron is a Squadron (aviation), squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, the auxiliary of the United States Air Force. It is assigned to the Massachusetts Wing Civil Air Patrol and is based at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts. The squadron is tasked with the promotion and execution of the Civil Air Patrol, Civil Air Patrol's three missions in Western Massachusetts: sharing the promotion of cadet programs, emergency services, and aerospace education with the Franklin County Composite Squadron. Camp Atterbury-Muscatatuck is a federally owned military post, licensed to and operated by the Indiana National Guard, located in south-central Indiana, west of Edinburgh, Indiana and U.S. Route 31. National Blue Beret
National Blue Beret (NBB) is a National Cadet Special Activity in the Civil Air Patrol. The event is two weeks long and is set up so that the second week will overlap with the annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh event. Participants are Civil Air Patrol cadet and senior members who must go through a competitive national selection process in order to attend the event. Participants help conduct event operations, including flight marshaling, crowd control, and emergency services. Contributions to EAA AirVenture The most important mission of the program is to assist the EAA with flight marshaling operations on the taxiways around runway 27. Cadets maintain constant posts along the taxiways near one runway during all operational hours of the air show. National Cadet Special Activities (NCSA) are Cadet Programs conducted by the Civil Air Patrol. NCSAs are designed to give cadets direct hands on experience with various aspects of the Civil Air Patrol program and provide meaningful insight into several aviation-related careers. There are 46 different special activities that a cadet may attend as of 2021. Each activity is approximately a week long, and all but two are offered during the Summer. The variety of NCSAs offered by CAP gives cadets a diverse experience. The Civil Air Patrol National Cadet Competition (NCC) program ran from 1974 to 2023. In 2023, the Civil Air Patrol decided to no longer hold a NCC event in Dayton each summer. Instead, the eight regional winners will be announced and celebrated at the national level.
