Westerveld (municipality)
Westerveld () is a municipality in the northeastern Netherlands. The municipality Westerveld was established in 1998 out of the municipalities of Diever, Dwingeloo, Havelte, and Vledder. Westerveld is crossed by a channel, the ''Drentsche Hoofdvaart''. There are also two National Parks situated in the municipality, the ''Drents-Friese Wold'' and ''Dwingelerveld''. Population centres Dwingeloo is a town halfway between Meppel and Assen. The radio telescope of the Dwingeloo Radio Observatory is located on the edge of the Dwingeloo Heath, south of the village. As of 24 March 2022, there are 344 municipalities ( nl, gemeenten) and three special municipalities () in the Netherlands. The latter is the status of three of the six island territories that make up the Dutch Caribbean. Dieverbrug is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 17 km northwest of Hoogeveen. The village was first mentioned in 1841 as "Dieverbrug of Dieverschebrug", and refers to the bridge which was built around 1770 over the on the road from Diever to Dwingeloo Dwingeloo () is a village halfway between Meppel and Assen in the Dutch province of Drenthe. Vledder
Vledder () is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 24 km northwest of Hoogeveen Hoogeveen (; nds-nl, 't Ogeveine or '' 't Oveine'') is a municipality and a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. Havelterberg is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It lies on the border of the municipalities Meppel and Westerveld, and lies about 21 km west of Hoogeveen.
