Western Port Ferries is a company providing passenger ferry services in Western Port in Victoria, Australia. History Western Port Ferries were awarded the contract to operate ferry routes in Western Port in June 2017 on behalf of the Victorian Government through Public Transport Victoria, replacing the previous operator Inter Island Ferries. The parent company, Searoad Ferries, were existing operators of the private ferry services between Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula and Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula in Port Phillip Bay. Routes The northern terminus of Stony Point connects to the Stony Point railway line which operates services to Frankston railway station. As of 2017, patronage of the route is approximately 32,000 passengers per year. Timetable There are eight services on weekdays in each direction between Stony Point and Tankerton. Cowes is the main township on Phillip Island in the Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia. Port Phillip Ferries is an Australian ferry company that operates on Port Phillip, providing fast ferry services connecting Geelong and Portarlington to Melbourne Docklands. Background Ferries had a long tradition of operating throughout Port Phillip, but the last ferries were requisitioned for defence purposes during World War II and the service did not resume after the war ended. Stony Point Railway Line
The Stony Point line is a greater-metropolitan railway line in Melbourne, Australia. The line extends from the Frankston line and is part of the city's suburban passenger railway network, and the Myki integrated ticketing system (Zone 2), but is not electrified like the rest of Melbourne's rail network. It has operated with a variety of rolling stock, and was the last suburban service in Australia to be operated by a locomotive hauled train.
