West Metro Education Program
The West Metro Education Program (WMEP) was a voluntary consortium of 11 urban and suburban school districts in the Minneapolis area of Minnesota. As an educational equity-focused collaborative for student success and educator growth, WMEP offered professional development, equity leadership and student programs to build capacity in the region. WMEP dissolved on June 30, 2018. The Edina School District is the public school system for most of the city of Edina, Minnesota. It is also referred to as the Independent School District (ISD) 273. There are approximately 8,500 students, K-12, served by 1139 teachers and support staff in six elementary schools (Grades K-5), two middle schools (Grades 6-8) and one high school (Grades 9-12).
