Werner Stuber
Werner Mortimer Stuber (27 January 1900 – 7 February 1957) was a Switzerland, Swiss Equestrianism, horse rider who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics and in the 1928 Summer Olympics. In 1924 he and his horse ''Girandole'' won the silver medal as part of the Swiss team in the team jumping competition, after finishing 14th in the Equestrian at the 1924 Summer Olympics, individual jumping event. He also participated in the Equestrian at the 1924 Summer Olympics, individual dressage event and finished twentieth with his horse ''Queen Mary''. Four years later he finished 25th in the Equestrian at the 1928 Summer Olympics, individual dressage event with his horse ''Ulhard''. Equestrian At The Summer Olympics
Equestrian sports were first included in the Olympic Games in the Equestrian at the 1900 Summer Olympics, Summer Olympics of 1900 in Paris. They were again included in 1912, and have been included in every subsequent edition of the Games. Currently, the Olympic equestrian disciplines are dressage, eventing, and show jumping. In each discipline, both individual and team medals are awarded. Since the 1952 Summer Olympics, XV Olympiad in Helsinki in 1952, women and men compete on equal terms. Together with the equestrian component of Modern Pentathlon, it is the only Olympic event that involves animals. The horses are considered to be athletes as much as the riders. The 1924 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the VIII Olympiad () and officially branded as Paris 1924, were an international multi-sport event held in Paris, France. The opening ceremony was held on 5 July, but some competitions had already started on 4 May. The Games were the second to be hosted by Paris (after 1900 Summer Olympics, 1900), making it the first city to host the Olympics twice. The selection process for the 1924 Summer Olympics consisted of six bids, and Paris was selected ahead of Amsterdam, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Prague, and Rome.
