Wenzizun
Wenzizun (), formally known as the New Taipei City Xin-Tai Wenzizun Redevelopment Zone (), is an urban rezoning area located in Xinzhuang District and Taishan District, New Taipei, Taishan District, on the west side of New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is in close proximity to Provincial Highway 65 (Taiwan), Provincial Highway 65 and Fu Jen Catholic University. The area is approximately 400 hectares, equivalent to the total area of four Xinzhuang Sub-city Centers, one of the largest urban development plan in Northern Taiwan. Background The Wenzizun redevelopment zone is located at the junction of Xinzhuang and Taishan Districts in New Taipei City. It was originally a flood plain first-level control zone controlled to cooperate with the Tamsui River flood control. The relevant local development plans have been delayed for many years. Tamsui River
The Tamsui River (alternatively Danshui River, ) is the third longest river in Taiwan after Zhuoshui River and Gaoping River, with a total length of , flowing through Hsinchu County, Taoyuan, Taipei and New Taipei City. It is located in the northern part of the island. Danhai New Town
Danhai New Town (), previously romanized as Tamhai New Town, is a large residential development in Tamsui District, New Taipei, Taiwan. It was first proposed as a new town in 1992. The project aims to create a town using 17.56 km2 of land north of central Tamsui to relocate 300,000 people from the overcrowded Taipei metropolitan area. It currently has a population of about 40,000. Developmental history The first phase of the project has been completed, but though it was designed to house 130,000 people, only 13,000 have moved in. The Central News Agency (CNA) is the national news agency of the Republic of China (Taiwan). History The CNA agency was founded , by the Kuomintang. Party member Hsiao Tung-tzu separated the CNA from Kuomintang headquarters in 1932. The agency's headquarters was originally located in Guangzhou in Guangdong province, but had to be relocated to Taipei in 1949, following the defeat of the Republic of China government in mainland China in the Chinese Civil War. Despite the corporatisation of the agency in 1973, it continued to receive heavy government subsidies, and remained the nation's official agency. At the time, CNA journalists received preferential treatment on various occasions, mostly government-related press conferences. Taipei Main Station () is a major metro and railway station in the capital Taipei, Taiwan. It is served by Taipei Metro, the Taiwan High Speed Rail, and Taiwan Railway. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), commonly known as the Airport MRT, is a rapid transit line of the Taoyuan Metro that connects Taipei, Taoyuan and New Taipei with Taoyuan International Airport in northern Taiwan. The line has 22 stations, from Taipei Main Station to , and began commercial service on 2 March 2017. ''United Daily News'' (UDN; ) is a newspaper published in Taiwan. It is considered to support the pan-Blue Coalition in its editorials. History UDN was founded in 1951 by Wang Tiwu as a merger of three newspapers, ''Popular Daily'' (全民日報), ''National'' (民族報), and the ''Economic Times'' (經濟時報). The three newspapers formally merged in 1953. The newspaper is owned by Wang Tiwu's daughter, Wang Shaw-lan. UDN is the flagship newspaper of the United Daily News Group which is chaired by Duncan Wang. The evening edition of the paper, the ''United Evening News'', was first published on February 22, 1968.
