Wentworth Valley
The Wentworth Valley is a valley in the Cobequid Mountains of northwestern Nova Scotia, Canada. It comprises the lowest elevation pass through the Cobequids. It was named after the colonial governor John Wentworth (1792-1808). Physical geography The valley is oriented north–south and is located in a glacial trough named the "Folly Gap" (originally spelled "Folleigh"). The section framed by mountains measures approximately in length, from Folly Lake in the south to Wentworth Provincial Park in the north with the width of the valley floor varying from in the south to in the north. The west wall of the valley is formed by Higgins Mountain ( elevation) and the east wall is formed by several unnamed peaks (- elevation). The south end and highest point of the trough is Folly Lake ( elevation) which drains south to the Bay of Fundy through the Folly River, therefore its waters do not enter the valley. Cobequid Mountains
The Cobequid Mountains, also sometimes referred to as the Cobequid Hills, is a Canadian mountain range located in Nova Scotia in the Nova Scotia peninsula, mainland portion of the province. Geologic history Geologically, the Cobequid Mountains are considered part of the Appalachian Mountains, Appalachians. The range stretches from Cape Chignecto in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, Cumberland County in the west through to Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Pictou County in the east. The Cobequid Mountains trace their geologic history to the Precambrian and Devonian ages; consequently the mountains are composed of a combination of sediments, granites, and volcanic rock all of which has been crushed and folded by continental drift when this part of Nova Scotia was located at the centre of the Pangea supercontinent. ''Alpine Ski'' (アルパイン・スキ一) is an alpine skiing arcade video game released by Taito in 1981. The player controls a skier on a vertically scrolling video game, vertically scrolling course who can move left, right, or increase forward speed. The aim is to maneuver a skier through a downhill course, a slalom skiing, slalom, and a ski jumping competition in the shortest time possible. Two players can compete against each other. Ski Wentworth
Ski Wentworth is a Canadian alpine ski hill in Nova Scotia's Cobequid Hills. Ski Wentworth is located in the hamlet of Wentworth in the Wentworth Valley, 48 km northwest of Truro and 67 km east of Amherst on Trunk 4. It is the largest alpine ski facility in Nova Scotia, having a 248-metre (815 foot) vertical difference. It features 23 alpine trails, a half-pipe, and 2 terrain parks. The trails are varied in difficulty from beginner to expert and support both alpine skiing and snowboarding. Trails Wentworth also has varied glade or tree trails from intermediate to advanced. Glade trails exist over almost the entire mountain and are largely unmarked on the trail map.
