Axel Lennart Wenner-Gren (5 June 1881 – 24 November 1961) was a Swedish entrepreneur and one of the wealthiest men in the world during the 1930s. Early life He was born on 5 June 1881 in Uddevalla, a town on the west coast of Sweden. He was the fourth of six children (four girls and two boys) born to Leonard and the much younger Alice Wenner-Gren (née Albin); only three of the children survived to adulthood: Axel, his oldest sister (Anna), and his younger brother (Hugo). His father owned a farm and exported timber to England, which made the family wealthy. Having spent his school years in Uddevalla, Wenner-Gren moved to Gothenburg where he was employed for five years in the spice importing company of a maternal uncle. Max Christopher Wenner, known as Christopher Wenner and later as Max Stahl (6 December 1954 – 28 October 2021), was a British journalist and television presenter. He was best known for filming an East Timorese demonstration and its aftermath that became known as the Santa Cruz massacre. François Wenner
François Wenner (19 July 1889 – 4 December 1965) was a Belgian colonial administrator. He was commissioner / governor of Lusambo Province in the Belgian Congo from 1940 to 1944. Early years François Wenner was born on 19 July 1889 in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. He entered the Belgian army, leaving as a commandant in 1918. He joined the colonial service on 4 July 1920. Colonial service Wenner left for the Congo in 1920 as a colonial administrator at Lebo, Bas-Uélé, and then in the Sankuru region. He was appointed district commissioner, first class on 1 January 1929. He was district commissioner of Sankuru District, with headquarters at Lusambo from September 1931 to January 1932. On 11 September 1940 Wenner succeeded Constant Wauters as commissioner of Lusambo Province. His position was renamed to governor in 1941. He left office on 9 June 1944, and was succeeded by R.P. Kurt Wenner is an American artist known for his 3D pavement art shown internationally. Early life and education Wenner was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1958, but grew up in Santa Barbara, California. He attended Rhode Island School of Design and ArtCenter College of Design in California. While at ArtCenter he was recruited to work for NASA at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, creating conceptual art. In 1982, he left his job at NASA to focus on his art and moved to Italy. Max Victor Wenner (15 April 1887 – 4 January 1937) was a Briton of Swiss ancestry, textile business heir, country squire, wildlife photographer, citizen science, citizen scientist (usually publishing as M.V. Wenner), and possible MI6 agent engaged in European espionage in the interwar Britain, interwar period. He fell, jumped or was pushed out of a plane flying over Belgium in 1937. Wenner-Gren Center
Wenner-Gren Center is a tower and building complex in Vasastan, Stockholm, Sweden. The building was constructed 1959–1961, and opened in 1962. The Center consists of three buildings named Helicon, Pylon and Tetragon. Pylon is a high tower, Helicon is a lower semicircular part surrounding the tower, and Tetragon is a box-shaped building next to the tower.
