Weiß (Sieg)
The Weiß is a river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which is in length. Its source is near the mountain Kalteiche, at a height of above sea level. Then it flows through the villages Wilgersdorf, Rudersdorf, Anzhausen, Niederdielfen, Kaan-Marienborn, and the city Siegen. The Weiß flows into the Sieg in Siegen, at 247 meters elevation. Geography Sources The source of the Weiß, is located within North Rhine-Westphalia, about 220 m north-west of the border with Hesse. It is located in Rothaargebirge at about 493 m above sea level, 1.6 km south of Wilgersdorf, 1.3 km east of the Kalteiche (579.3 m) and about 600 meters north of its eastern neighbor Hirschenstein (562.9 m). Sieg (river)
The Sieg () is a river in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Rhine. The river is named after the Sicambri. It is in length. The source is located in the Rothaargebirge mountains. From here the river runs southwestwards to the city of Siegen and the hills of Siegerland, both named after the river. Further west the Sieg valley forms the boundary of the Bergisches Land (northern) and Westerwald (southern). The river finally runs through a protected area east of the city of Bonn. After passing the cities of Hennef and Siegburg, the river flows into the Rhine at the ''Naturschutzgebiet Siegaue'', a protected area immediately to the northeast of the city of Bonn, near Niederkassel/. Wilgersdorf
Wilgersdorf is a village in the district Siegen-Wittgenstein in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Apart from that, it is also the biggest part (by area) of the municipality Wilnsdorf. Geography Wilgersdorf is located in a rich forestregion in the Rothaargebirge (see Rothaarsteig for the nearby hiking trail). Highest elevations of the area are the ''Kalteiche'' (579.3 m , 1900.6 ft) and the ''Tiefenrother Höhe'' (552.3 m , 1812 ft). In the southern part of the village arises the ''Weiss'', which joins the river Sieg after 18.1 km (11.2 mi). Wilgersdorf has a total area of 11.54 km² (4.46 sq mi). The Rothaar Mountains (, , also ''Rotlagergebirge''), or Rothaar, is a low mountain range reaching heights of up to 843.1 m in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse, Germany. The Dill Railway (German: ''Dillstrecke'') is a 73 km-long double-track electrified railway line, which runs from Gießen in Hesse to Siegen in North Rhine-Westphalia. The line is mainly worked by regional trains, including diesel multiples of the DreiLänderBahn, except for the IC 34, which runs between Frankfurt and Siegen, stopping in Dillenburg.
