Weerya
''Weerya'' () is a 2024 Sri Lankan Sinhalese language action thriller film directed and produced by Sunil Aruna Weerasiri for Arunakanthi Films. It stars Jagath Chamila and Sheshadri Priyasad in lead roles along with Lucky Dias, Sriyani Amarasena and Duleeka Marapana in supportive roles. During the shooting, popular actor Anton Jude was hospitalized on 12 March 2012, where he later died in cardiac arrest. The film is released on 5 January 2024 in Ridma circuit cinemas. Jagath Chamila
Jagath Chamila Fernando (, born 6 June 1972) is an actor in Cinema of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television. He made his film debut in 1992 in the Sinhalese language, Sinhalese film ''Guru Gedara'', portraying a child. In 2013, he won the award for the Best Actor at New York International Film festival for his portrayal of Sami in ''Samige Kathava'', a film based on Elmo Jayawardena's novel ''Sam's Story'' (2001). He is considered one of five actors who have dominated the Sri Lankan stage by critics. Family Jagath Chamila was born on 6 June 1972. Ramya Wanigasekara
Ramya Wanigasekara (; 17 July 1950 – 8 March 2024) was an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television. A pioneer of Sri Lankan radio, she was a Radio Ceylon news reader for more than two decades. She was also a playback singer. Wanigasekara died on 8 March 2024, at the age of 73, while undergoing treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
