Flavobacteriales
The order Flavobacteriales comprises several families of environmental bacteria. Comparative genomics and molecular signatures ''Flavobacteriales'' is of one of the orders from the phylum ''Bacteroidota''. Comparative genomic studies have identified several conserved indels, as well as 27 proteins that are uniquely shared by different sequenced Flavobacteriales and Bacteroidota species supporting this inference. Additionally, these studies have also identified 38 proteins that seem to be specific for the species from the order ''Flavobacteriales''. Of these proteins, 26 were present in all sequenced species, while the remaining 12 were missing in only one or two species. These signature proteins provide potential molecular markers for this order. Several proteins have also been identified which are unique to the ''Flavobacteriales'' and '' Bacteroidales'' orders, indicating the species from these two orders shared a common ancestor exclusive of other ''Bacteroidota''. Phylogeny ...

Wautersiella
''Wautersiella'' is a genus of bacteria most closely related to ''Empedobacter brevis'' in the family Weeksellaceae and the order Flavobacteriales. Originally described in 2006 by Kämpfer et al. based on 26 clinical isolates from Belgium that shared 94-95% homology after 16S ribosomal RNA 16 S ribosomal RNA (or 16 S rRNA) is the RNA component of the 30S subunit of a prokaryotic ribosome ( SSU rRNA). It binds to the Shine-Dalgarno sequence and provides most of the SSU structure. The genes coding for it are referred to as 16S r ... sequencing. The species described was named ''Wautersiella falsenii'' in honor of contemporary microbiologists Belgian Georges Wauters and Norwegian Enevold Falsen. Characteristics ''Wautersiella falsenii'' is an aerobic, Gram-negative, non-lactose fermenting, non-motile, oxidase-, urease- and catalase-positive, organism 2–3 um in length. The notable distinction between ''Wautersiella falsenii'' and ''Empedobacter brevis'' is that the la ...
