Beveridge Webster
Beveridge Webster (May 13, 1908, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – June 30, 1999, in Hanover, New Hampshire) was an American pianist and educator. Beveridge Webster studied with his father, initially, and in 1921, at age 14, he began five years of study in Europe, first at the American Academy at Fontainebleau, then at the Paris Conservatory with Isidor Philipp and Nadia Boulanger. He also studied in Berlin with Artur Schnabel. He made his New York debut in November 1934 with the New York Philharmonic performing Edward MacDowell's Piano Concerto No. 2. Perhaps best known as an interpreter of French composers, especially Maurice Ravel, Webster gave premieres or made first recordings of many contemporary works, including pieces by Louise Talma, Roger Sessions, Roy Harris, Aaron Copland and Elliott Carter. She has released four studio albums, ''Run and Tell'' (2013), ''Faye Webster'' (2017), ''Atlanta Millionaires Club'' (2019), and ''I Know I'm Funny Haha'' (2021). Elnardo Julian Webster II (born December 23, 1969) is a former American football linebacker who played one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Steelers in the ninth round of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played college football at Rutgers University and attended St. Peter's Preparatory School in Jersey City, New Jersey. College career Webster lettered for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights from 1988 to 1991. He earned Honorable Mention All-Big East honors in 1990 and First-team All-Big East accolades in 1991. Edwin Hanson Webster (March 31, 1829 – April 24, 1893) was a U.S. Congressman from Maryland, serving the second district for two terms from 1859 until 1865. Biography Edwin Hanson Webster was born on March 31, 1829, near Churchville, Maryland. Webster received a classical training, and attended the Churchville Academy and later the New London Academy of Chester County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Dickinson College of Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1847, and afterwards taught school and studied law at the office of Otho Scott of Bel Air, Maryland. He was admitted to the bar in 1851, and commenced practice in Bel Air. Brigadier Frederick Richard Webster (31 December 1914 – 28 September 2009) was a British Army officer and Olympic pole vaulter. Sports career Educated at Bedford School and Christ's College, Cambridge, Webster competed in both the 1936 Olympics and the 1948 Olympics. He held the British pole vaulting record between 1936 and 1950. He also competed for England in the pole vault at the 1934 British Empire Games in London and four years later he competed for England at the 1938 British Empire Games in the pole vault again.
