The Weaver Popcorn Company, based in Van Buren, Indiana, is one of the largest popcorn companies in the United States. History Founded in 1928 by Ira E. Weaver (whose family still controls the company), the company develops, grows, processes, packages, and ships a variety of popcorn products for sale around the world. Its customers include store chains around the world, as well as concessionaires, and international popcorn distributors. In 2007, the Weaver Popcorn Company became the first company to remove diacetyl, a controversial butter flavoring, from its ''Pop Weaver'' microwave popcorn products.Weaver Popcorn Company. Van Buren, Indiana
Van Buren is a town in Van Buren Township, Grant County, Indiana, United States. The population was 864 at the 2010 census. History Joseph Boxell platted Van Buren Township in 1837. Martin Van Buren was the United States president at the time. In 1843 George H. D. Rood settled here and the creek that runs through the town was called Roods Run. As the area grew and developed it was called many names including Roods Corner, Roods Town, Roods Crossroads and Stringtown. In 1888 C.W. platted the area and it was known as Van Buren.
