We Care A Lot
''We Care a Lot'' is the debut studio album by American Rock music, rock band Faith No More, originally released in 1985 and distributed through Mordam Records. On the original vinyl release, the band is credited as Faith. No More. on the album's liner notes, back cover, and on the record itself. Production The band initially started recording the album without backing from a record label and, after pooling their money, recorded five songs. This gained the attention of Ruth Schwartz (who was then forming the independent label Mordam Records) under which the band (after receiving the finances to do so) finished and released the album. It was the first official release for both the band and the label. The album was recorded in a short space of time on a low budget. Faith No More
Faith No More is an American Rock music, rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before September 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. The lineup of Faith No More consists of Gould, Bordin, Bottum, lead guitarist Jon Hudson, and vocalist/lyricist Mike Patton. The Smurfs
''The Smurfs'' (; ) is a Belgian comic franchise centered on a fictional colony of small, blue, humanoid creatures who live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. ''The Smurfs'' was created and introduced as a series of comic characters by the Belgian comics artist Peyo (the pen name of Pierre Culliford) in 1958, wherein they were known as ''Les Schtroumpfs''. There are more than 100 Smurf characters, and their names are based on adjectives that emphasise their characteristics, such as "Jokey Smurf", who likes to play practical jokes on his fellow Smurfs. ''Epic And Other Hits'' is a compilation album released by Faith No More in 2005. Despite the album's title, only a handful of songs on it are actual hits, even though the band had other hits which do not appear here. Background The compilation greatly focuses on the band's 1989 album '' The Real Thing'', with six out of the ten tracks taken from it. ''Epic And Other Hits'' is generally considered a "weak" compilation, and many fans see it as a way to cash in on the success of Mike Patton. "Anne's Song" is a 1988 single by American band Faith No More, taken from their 1987 album '' Introduce Yourself''. Written by band members Billy Gould and Roddy Bottum, the song describes an acquaintance of theirs from New York, and her circle of friends. The single was produced by Matt Wallace and Steve Berlin and released by Slash Records. "Anne's Song" was released alongside a music video directed by Tamra Davis, which featured both the eponymous Anne and an appearance by Metallica member James Hetfield. The song has met with critical appreciation in later years, drawing comparisons to David Bowie and Tom Tom Club. Michael Allan Patton (born January 27, 1968) is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and voice actor, best known as the lead vocalist of the rock bands Faith No More and Mr. Bungle. James Blanco Martin (born July 21, 1961) is an American guitarist who played with the rock band Faith No More from 1983 to late 1993. Career In the early 1980s, Martin played guitar in the thrash metal band Vicious Hatred. Faith No More Martin joined Faith No More in 1983, four years after the group's formation. He played on the albums '' We Care a Lot'', '' Introduce Yourself'', their breakthrough record '' The Real Thing'', with new vocalist Mike Patton replacing Chuck Mosley, and '' Angel Dust''. Following the release of ''Angel Dust'', Martin left the group for reasons that remain unknown. On his now-defunct website, Martin stated that ''The Real Thing'' was FNM's ideal album, both in the creative process and the subsequent touring. Slash Records was an American record label originally specializing in local punk rock bands, active from 1978 to 2000. It was notable as one of the first and most successful independent record labels in alternative music, before its eventual acquisition by Warner Music Group. History The label was formed in 1978 by Bob Biggs. Biggs, a painter, initiated the label with a seven-inch single from the Germs in 1978.
