Epic And Other Hits
''Epic And Other Hits'' is a compilation album released by Faith No More in 2005. Despite the album's title, only a handful of songs on it are actual hits, even though the band had other hits which do not appear here. Background The compilation greatly focuses on the band's 1989 album '' The Real Thing'', with six out of the ten tracks taken from it. ''Epic And Other Hits'' is generally considered a "weak" compilation, and many fans see it as a way to cash in on the success of Mike Patton. Most notably, the Mosley-era track "Arabian Disco" is included, from the ''We Care A Lot'' album, which was then out of print on CD. The album also contains no tracks from '' King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime'' or '' Introduce Yourself''. Faith No More is an American Rock music, rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before September 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. James Blanco Martin (born July 21, 1961) is an American guitarist who played with the rock band Faith No More from 1983 to late 1993. Career In the early 1980s, Martin played guitar in the thrash metal band Vicious Hatred. Faith No More Martin joined Faith No More in 1983, four years after the group's formation. He played on the albums '' We Care a Lot'', '' Introduce Yourself'', their breakthrough record '' The Real Thing'', with new vocalist Mike Patton replacing Chuck Mosley, and '' Angel Dust''. Following the release of ''Angel Dust'', Martin left the group for reasons that remain unknown. William David Gould (born April 24, 1963) is an American musician and producer. He is best known as the bassist of Faith No More. Biography Early years Gould was born on April 24, 1963, in Los Angeles, and he is of Scottish and Hungarian descent from his father's side. Gould started playing the bass while he was at Loyola High School in Los Angeles with future Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum. His first band during these early years was named "The Animated," a genre-bending new wave outfit that sounded something like a cross between The Buzzcocks, XTC and Michael Jackson.
