We Barbarians were an American three-piece indie rock band based in Brooklyn, originally from Long Beach, California. The band consisted of David Quon, Derek VanHeule, and Nathan Warkentin. Their debut studio album, There's This There's That, was released on December 15, 2009. The band's latest EP, Headspace, was released August 30, 2011. History We Barbarians were composed of three friends who grew up playing together in Long Beach, California. They formed in 2007 after their previous group, The Colour, disbanded. The band's indie bluesy-rock sound has often garnered comparisons to U2 and The Clash. Their first EP, ''In The Doldrums'', was released November 1, 2007. Their debut album, ''There's This There's That'', followed on December 15, 2009. On August 30, 2011, the band released their sophomore EP, ''Headspace''. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Although the term was originally used to describe rock music released through independent record labels, by the 1990s it became more widely associated with the music such bands produced. Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Alternative rock acts achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with the likes of the grunge subgenre in the United States, and the Britpop and shoegaze subgenres in the United Kingdom and Ireland. White Rabbits is an American six-piece indie rock band based in Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York, originally from Columbia, Missouri. The band released its debut studio album, ''Fort Nightly'', on May 22, 2007. Their second album, ''It's Frightening'', was released on May 19, 2009. They released their third album, ''Milk Famous'', on March 6, 2012. The band is signed to TBD Records. History The band formed in Columbia, Missouri. Daytrotter
Daytrotter was a recording studio, music venue and subscription-based music discovery website located in Atlanta, United States. It hosted recording sessions with indie music acts. The original studio in Rock Island, Illinois, was founded in 2006 by Sean Moeller. It later moved to Davenport, Iowa and in 2019 moved to Atlanta, Georgia. The sessions can be compared to that of a radio station's lounge recordings, where musicians passing through the town can record live in the studio. Given their tendency to offer an eclectic sampling of music as well as their production style the sessions have been compared to that of the Peel Sessions. Currently, the Daytrotter website is owned by Paste, and redirects to the magazine's website.
