Waze
Waze Mobile Ltd, (; ) doing business as Waze (), formerly FreeMap Israel, is a subsidiary company of Google that provides satellite navigation software on smartphones and other computers that support the Global Positioning System (GPS). In addition to turn-by-turn navigation, it incorporates user-submitted travel times and route details while downloading location-dependent information over a cellular network. Waze describes its application as a community-driven initiative that is free to download and use. The software was originally developed in Israel by Waze Mobile, a company founded by Israeli entrepreneurs Ehud Shabtai, Amir Shinar, and Uri Levine, veterans of the Israeli intelligence unit 8200. Uri Levine
Uri Levine (; born February 1965) is an Israeli entrepreneur and author. He co-founded Waze, a traffic and navigation app that was acquired by Google in June 2013 for more than $1.1 billion. He was the first board member and investor in Moovit, which was acquired by Intel for about US$1 billion in May 2020. Levine is the author of 'Fall in Love with the Problem, Not the Solution- A handbook for Entrepreneurs', published on January 17, 2023.
