Wayside, Mississippi
Wayside is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Mississippi, United States. The settlement has a post office and water tower. Wayside is located on Mississippi Highway 1 approximately south of Greenville. History The Belmont Plantation was located in Wayside. The plantation home was completed in 1859, and has been described as "one of the few antebellum homes in the region not burned by rampaging Union soldiers". The extant home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Wayside was originally located directly on the Mississippi River at the eastern end of "American Bend", and the early settlement had a steamboat landing. Wayside is a small unincorporated community in Lynn County, Texas, United States. Today, the community is best described as a ghost town, with only a few farms and ranches scattered across the area. Geography In the state of Texas, there are six small communities that share the name Wayside. On the high plains of the Llano Estacado is Wayside (Armstrong County), Wayside (Roberts County), and Wayside (Lynn County). The Wayside
The Wayside is a historic house in Concord, Massachusetts. The earliest part of the home may date to 1717. Later it successively became the home of the young Louisa May Alcott and her family, who named it Hillside, author Nathaniel Hawthorne and his family, and children's writer Margaret Sidney. It became the first site with literary associations acquired by the National Park Service and is now open to the public as part of Minute Man National Historical Park. Early history The first record of the Wayside property occurs in 1717. Minuteman Samuel Whitney was living in this house, which still retained most of its original appearance, on April 19, 1775, when British troops passed by on their way to the Battles of Lexington and Concord at Concord's Old North Bridge. Wayside is an unincorporated community located along the border of Tinton Falls Borough and Ocean Township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The community is largely residential though some churches, parks, and schools are located in the area. The main arterial roads in the community are Hope Road (through which the Tinton Falls–Ocean Township municipal line runs), Wayside Road ( County Route 38 in Tinton Falls), and West Park Avenue. Access to New Jersey Route 18 is available via nearby interchanges with Deal Road, West Park Avenue, and Wayside Road; the Garden State Parkway's exit 105 is also located north of Wayside.
