Wayne Eyre
General Wayne Donald Eyre, (born 1966/1967) is a Canadian Forces officer serving as the chief of the Defence Staff (CDS). Eyre was named acting CDS on February 24, 2021, and appointed to the full position on November 25, 2021. He was also the commander of the Canadian Army and chief of the Army Staff. Early life Eyre was born on a farm near Wadena, Saskatchewan, joining the Army Cadets at age 13. He spent his high school years in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Eyre attended Royal Roads Military College and the Royal Military College. Military career Eyre was commissioned into the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in 1988. He became commanding officer of the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in 2004. Wadena, Saskatchewan
Wadena ( ) is a town in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, located east of Saskatoon, north of Fort Qu'Appelle and northwest of Yorkton on the eastern shore of the Quill Lakes. The town is known for its birdwatching and hunting opportunities as Quill Lakes is part of a major flight path. The Wadena and District Museum, located just south of Wadena on Highway 35, also hosts an annual Vintage Day in July. Wadena is the administrative centre of the Rural Municipality of Lakeview. It is also the administrative headquarters of the Fishing Lake Saulteaux First Nation band government. The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS) is the investigative arm of the Canadian Forces Military Police. Admiral Arthur Gerard McDonald, (born 1967) is a Royal Canadian Navy admiral who served as Chief of the Defence Staff of the Canadian Forces from January 14, 2021, until February 24, 2021, when he voluntarily stepped aside due to an investigation by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service. On November 25, 2021, McDonald was formally relieved of his command, and replaced permanently by General Wayne Eyre who had held the post during the interim. Vice Admiral Stuart Campbell Mayer, (born 1965) is a retired senior officer of the Royal Australian Navy. He joined the navy via the Royal Australian Naval College at HMAS Creswell in 1984 and qualified as a Principal Warfare Officer in 1994.
