Wave 105
Wave 105 was an Independent Regional Radio station based in Fareham, England, owned and operated by Bauer. It broadcast to South Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, West Sussex, Wiltshire, and Dorset. As of December 2023, the station had a weekly audience of 405,000 listeners according to RAJAR and over 5 million listening hours, making it one of the most listened to regional radio stations in the UK and the most popular station in its transmission area. In February 2024, Bauer Media announced that the station would be rebranded as Greatest Hits Radio on 28 March 2024, and be merged with Greatest Hits Radio South. It will retain opt outs for breakfast in the interim. Fareham
Fareham ( ) is a market town at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour, between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in south east Hampshire, England. It gives its name to the Borough of Fareham. It was historically an important manufacturer of bricks, used to build the Royal Albert Hall, and grower of strawberries and other seasonal fruits. Kelvin Calder MacKenzie (born 22 October 1946) is an English News media, media executive and a former newspaper editor. The Radio Partnership was a media company which operated radio stations in the UK. About Initially, the Metro Radio Group which owned TFM Radio, TFM, Metro FM and Great North Radio, bought Viking FM, Hallam FM, Pennine FM (later rebranded as The Pulse of West Yorkshire, The Pulse) and Classic Gold (later rebranded Great Yorkshire Radio, then Great Yorkshire Gold) was acquired by EMAP, East Midland Allied Press in 1996. Soft Cell are an English synth-pop duo who came to prominence in the early 1980s. The duo consists of vocalist Marc Almond and instrumentalist David Ball (electronic musician), David Ball. The band are primarily known for their 1981 hit version of "Tainted Love" and their platinum-selling debut album ''Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret''. "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" is a song from the album'' Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret'' by English synth-pop duo Soft Cell that was released as a single in January 1982 and reached number three on the UK Singles Chart. In 1991, the track was remixed by Julian Mendelsohn and released as "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye '91" to promote the compilation album ''Memorabilia – The Singles'', making no. 38 on the UK Singles Chart.
