Cedar Fair
Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, or simply Cedar Fair, was an American company headquartered at its flagship Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, United States. The company was a publicly traded master limited partnership that originally formed in 1983 following Cedar Point's acquisition of Valleyfair, in which the name of both parks were combined to form the name ''Cedar Fair''. By 2006, the company's portfolio had grown to eleven amusement parks, eleven outdoor water parks, and one indoor water park in the US and Canada. The acquisition of Schlitterbahn added two more outdoor water parks in 2019. Cedar Fair and longtime rival Six Flags merged on July 1, 2024, forming a new company and retaining the Six Flags name. Announced in November 2023 as a merger of equals, former Cedar Fair leadership remained in control of the new company, along with two former Six Flags executives. Soak City is a water park at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio. Opening in 1989 as WaterWorks, the water park is included with the price of admission to Kings Island. It is owned and operated by Six Flags, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. History Soak City originally opened in 1989 as a water park under the name WaterWorks featuring 15 water slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river ride called Action River. Soak City (Kings Dominion)
Soak City is a water park owned by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, located at the back of Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia. Tickets are included with admission to the main park. History When the park debuted in 1992, it was originally named Hurricane Reef. In 1999, the water park was expanded and renamed WaterWorks and many of the attractions received new names. It has two sections, the Northside, formerly known as Hurricane Reef, and the Southside, which is the newer section of WaterWorks. The water parks at Kings Island and Carowinds were also known as WaterWorks for a period of time before being renamed Boomerang Bay.
