Wasting Light Tour
Wasting Light World Tour was a concert tour by American rock band Foo Fighters, in support of their seventh studio album ''Wasting Light''. It began on January 28, 2011 at a secret show at Velvet Jones in Santa Barbara, California where they debuted the album in full. The tour included dates across Europe, Oceania, North and South America and included festival dates such as Reading and Leeds Festival as well a series of performances in hardcore fans' garages which was documented in their "Garage Tour" documentary on YouTube. Background The tour started with a series of secret intimate shows across California including at The Roxy. They also played at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 show at O2 Brixton Academy and was their first performance at the venue since the '' There Is Nothing Left to Lose'' tour. Wasting Light
''Wasting Light'' is the seventh studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on April 12, 2011, through Roswell and RCA Records. Wanting to capture the essence of their earlier work and avoid the artificiality of digital recording, Foo Fighters recorded the album in the garage of frontman Dave Grohl in Encino, California, using only analog equipment. The sessions were produced by the band alongside Butch Vig, with whom Grohl had worked on Nirvana's ''Nevermind''. Since the old equipment did not allow for many mistakes to be corrected in post-production, the band spent three weeks rehearsing the songs, and Vig had to relearn outdated editing techniques. The band sought a heavier and rawer sound in contrast to the experimentation of their previous albums. Most of the lyrics were written as Grohl reflected upon his life and possible future. Ian Fraser Kilmister (24 December 1945 – 28 December 2015), better known as Lemmy Kilmister or simply Lemmy, was a British musician. He was the founder, lead vocalist, bassist and primary songwriter of the metal band Motörhead, of which he was the only continuous member, and a member of Hawkwind from 1971 to 1975. Thomas DeCarlo Callaway-Burton (born May 30, 1975), known professionally as CeeLo Green (or Cee Lo Green or simply Cee-Lo), is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, and actor. John Waldo "Fee" Waybill (born September 17, 1950,) is the lead singer and songwriter of San Francisco band The Tubes. Waybill has also worked with other acts, including Toto, Richard Marx, and Billy Sherwood. Early life and education Waybill moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, in the 1950s and grew up in the Southwest Village area. He then attended Arizona State University, where he had planned to study oceanography. Ultimately, he discovered acting and decided to pursue that as a field of study. Waybill eventually dropped out of college and, while hanging out in the Verde Valley of Arizona, got to know his future bandmates, Roger Steen and Prairie Prince. Krist Anthony Novoselic (; ; born May 16, 1965) is an American musician, politician and activist. Novoselic co-founded and played bass on every album for the rock music, rock band Nirvana (band), Nirvana. Novoselic and Kurt Cobain formed the band Nirvana in 1987, soon recruiting drummer Aaron Burckhard, who was the drummer of the group until October 1987. Through the late 1980s, Nirvana established themselves as part of the Seattle grunge scene, releasing three albums between 1989 and 1993.
