Washington Omar Aguerre Lima (born 23 April 1993) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Categoría Primera A club Independiente Medellin. Club career A youth academy product of Peñarol, Aguerre made his professional debut on 31 August 2014 in a 2–0 win against Tacuarembó. On 10 October 2019, he scored his first career goal in Cerro Largo's 2–0 win against Cerro. On 5 September 2023, América Mineiro officially announced Aguerre's signing until 31 December 2023. International career Aguerre is a former Uruguay youth international. His only match for under-20 team was on 13 June 2013 against El Salvador. Club Atlético Peñarol (), more commonly referred to as Peñarol, is a Uruguayan professional football club based in Montevideo. The club currently competes in the Uruguayan Primera División, the highest tier in Uruguayan football. Tacuarembó ( Guarani: ''Takuarembo'', literally: "Bamboo shoot") is the capital city of the Tacuarembó Department in north-central Uruguay. History On 24 October 1831, a presidential decree by Fructuoso Rivera ordered the creation of a city in the region. The task was entrusted to the President's brother, Colonel Bernabé Rivera. Colonel Rivera left Montevideo on a three-month journey with a caravan of wagons and families, towards the shore of the Tacuaremboty River, which in the Guaraní language means "river of the reeds". The area was surveyed and divided into blocks for settlement.
