Warren Range
Warren Range () is an Antarctic mountain range about 15 nautical miles (28 km) long just west of Boomerang Range, with which it lies parallel, in Oates Land. Discovered by the Northern Survey Party of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1956–58), which called the highest summit " Mount Warren" after Guyon Warren, a member of the party in 1957–58. Boomerang Range
The Boomerang Range, (at ), is a narrow mountain range on the western side of the Skelton Glacier and Skelton Névé, Antarctica. The range is curved like a boomerang, and extends generally north–south for about 25 km. Oates Land
Oates Land is a region of Antarctica. It is variously defined as a portion of the East Antarctica near the coast stretching along and inland from the Oates Coast (see map) and as an officially delineated wedge-shaped segment of the Australian Antarctic Territory. The segment of the Australian claim extends between 153°45' E and 160° E, forming a wedge between Latitude 60° S and the South Pole. It is bounded in the east by the Ross Dependency and overlaps George V Land to the west. Exploration Oates Land was discovered in February 1911 by Lieutenant Harry Pennell of the Royal Navy, commander of the '' Terra Nova'', the expedition ship of the British Antarctic Expedition, 1910–13. Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition
The Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (CTAE) of 1955–1958 was a Commonwealth-sponsored expedition that successfully completed the first overland crossing of Antarctica, via the South Pole. It was the first expedition to reach the South Pole overland for 46 years, preceded only by Amundsen's expedition and Scott's expedition in 1911 and 1912. In keeping with the tradition of polar expeditions of the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration, the CTAE was a private venture, though it was supported by the governments of the United Kingdom, New Zealand, United States, Australia and South Africa, as well as many corporate and individual donations, under the patronage of Queen Elizabeth II. Mount Warren (Warren Range)
Mount Warren () is located in the Wind River Range in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The peak is the third peak in the range and the fourth tallest in Wyoming. The summit is located in the Fitzpatrick Wilderness of Shoshone National Forest and rises above several glaciers, the best known being Dinwoody Glacier which is immediately north of the summit tower. The mountain abuts, but is not within, either Bridger National Forest or Sublette County, Wyoming. Hazards Encountering bears is a concern in the Wind River Range. There are other concerns as well, including bugs, wildfires, adverse snow conditions and nighttime cold temperatures. Mountain
A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock. Mount Guyon
Mount Guyon () is a bluff-type mountain with a small summit area, high. It rises at the west side of Deception Glacier and forms the highest elevation in the Warren Range in Antarctica. Skelton Icefalls
Skelton Glacier is a large glacier flowing from the polar plateau into the Ross Ice Shelf at Skelton Inlet on the Hillary Coast, south of Victoria Land, Antarctica.
