Warren Nicholson
Warren Nicholson (born October 9, 1965) is a Canadian classical guitarist. Career Nicholson was born on October 9, 1965, in Lachine, Quebec, Canada. He graduated from McMaster University in 1991 and the Manhattan School of Music in 1994. After graduation, he taught for four years at the Boys Choir of Harlem. He won the 1997 International Artists Auditions in New York City. The victory allowed him to perform at the Carnegie Recital Hall in 1998. Warren played classical and church music for the Riverside Church Sunday Chapel Series (NYC) and Composer's Concordance. Lachine () is a borough (''arrondissement'') within the city of Montreal on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It was founded as a trading post in 1669. Developing into a parish and then an autonomous city, it was Montreal merger, merged as a municipality into Montreal in 2002. Arthur Kampela
Arthur Kampela is a Brazilian-American composer, guitarist, and songwriter. Compositions Though Kampela has been associated with the New Complexity movement, his style evolves out of extreme extended-technique improvisational practices which remap the ergonomics of one instrument onto another (percussion onto guitar, or guitar onto viola). An important aspect of Kampela's music is his development of ''micro-metric modulation'', a formula for precisely controlled transition from any polyrhythm to any other polyrhythm, without either of the tempos of the respective polyrhythms being directly related. (He has also participated in activities that revive the theories and practices of Swiss-Brazilian musician Walter Smetak.) Gene Pritsker
Gene Pritsker (born 1971) is a composer, guitarist, rapper and record producer living in New York City. He moved to the United States with his family in 1978 and lived in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He attended the Manhattan School of Music from 1990 to 1994 where he studied composition with Giampaolo Bracali. While attending Manhattan School of Music he co-founded the Absolute Ensemble with Kristjan Järvi and formed Sound Liberation, which has released CDs on Col-legno, Composers Concordance Records and Innova Recordings. Pritsker's music has been performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, MDR Symphony Orchestra, Athens Camarata, Brooklyn Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic. He worked closely with the Austrian-American jazz keyboardist and composer Joe Zawinul and has orchestrated Hollywood movies. Oakville Symphony Orchestra
The Oakville Symphony is a Canadian orchestra performing in Oakville, Ontario. History The Oakville Symphony was founded in 1967 by Kenneth Hollier, a local musician and educator with the original mission statement to “make music for the pleasure of its members and the enjoyment of its audience”. The Oakville Symphony currently performs at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. In 1968, a small group met for the first rehearsal in a music room at T. A. Blakelock High School, among which a few members still perform with the orchestra today. The newly formed orchestra's first performance was held at the YMCA on June 24, 1968. The Toronto Children's Chorus (TCC) is a children's choir based in Toronto. It was founded in 1978 by Jean Ashworth Bartle. The group has close to 350 members aged 6 to 18.
