Warren Carne
Warren James Carne (born 14 October 1975) is a former Zimbabwean cycle sport, cyclist. Early years His family relocated to South Africa from Zimbabwe in the mid 1980s with Carne attending Potchefstroom Boys High. He graduated from the same class as the South African Boxer Sean Santana and Olympic 800 metre runner Hezekiél Sepeng. Cycling career During his early years, he ventured into time trialing on the road as a junior before shifting his focus to mountain biking. A noteworthy achievement during this time was his 12th-place finish at the 2005 Zimbabwean National XC Championships, which took place in Harare. Carne was a member of the Zimbabwe squad that competed at the inaugural 2007 UCI African Mountain Bike Championships that were contested in Windhoek, Namibia. African Mountain Bike Championships
The Union Cycliste Internationale African Mountain Bike Championships (French Language, French : Championnat d'Afrique de VTT) is the highest echelon of Mountain Bike racing on the African continent. First held in 2007 at Windhoek, Namibia the event has been contested every year since. It is ruled and managed by the Confédération Africaine de Cyclisme, African Cycling Confederation. Over the years top riders from South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Rwanda, Mauritius, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe have attended this prestigious race. Timothy David Jones (born 1 August 1975 in Harare) is a Zimbabwean former professional road racing cyclist. He raced in Europe for ten years, riding for , , Mercury, and professional cycling teams. His most notable victories are stage 3 of the 2003 Settimana Ciclista Lombarda, Tour of Slovenia (1999), Giro del Capo (1998) in South Africa and the 2001 Giro dell'Etna in Italy where he beat Davide Rebellin and Ivan Basso. He is the first Zimbabwean to compete in a Grand Tour, finishing 73rd in the 2001 Giro d'Italia.
