Warman Wolverines
The Warman Wolverines are a Junior ice hockey team in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) based in Warman, Saskatchewan. The team will debut in the 2025–26 SJHL season. The franchise was previously known as the Notre Dame Hounds when it was affiliated with the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, before it was sold in 2025 and relocated to Warman. The new owners will reportedly finance the team "for a period of up to five years before transitioning to a community ownership model." Team identity The name Wolverines was chosen to align with the team names of Warman High School. The team logo, a side profile of a wolverine, is similar, but not identical, to that of the school. Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League
The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is a Junior 'A' ice hockey league operating in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan and one of nine member leagues of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. Open to North American-born players 20 years of age or younger, the SJHL's 12 teams play in three divisions: the Nutrien, Sherwood and Viterra Divisions. A major attraction in Saskatchewan, the SJHL draws 400,000 fans each season. Notre Dame Hounds
The Notre Dame Hounds were a Canadian Junior A ice hockey team based in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. The team was affiliated with Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, a private boarding school established in 1920 and later renamed after Athol Murray, who directed the school and founded its hockey program. The Hounds were members of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and played their home games in Duncan McNeill Arena. The team became national champions in 1988, representing Western Canada and winning the Centennial Cup. The Hounds have also operated successful Minor AAA teams over the course of their history. Athol Murray College Of Notre Dame
Athol Murray College of Notre Dame is a private, co-educational boarding high school located in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, Canada. It was founded by the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis in 1920 as St. Augustine school when they established Notre Dame of the Prairies Convent. The school was later renamed to honor Father Athol Murray. History In 1920, the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis opened the Notre Dame of the Prairies Convent and St. Augustine's residential elementary and high school for boys and girls at Wilcox, Saskatchewan, a small town on the Canadian prairies south of Regina. Wilcox ( 2016 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Bratt's Lake No. 129 and Census Division No. 6.
