Wang Tung
Wang Tong or Wang Toon (born Wáng Zhōnghé, April 14, 1942) is a Taiwanese director who started his career as an art director and production designer and later became a film director and educator. He started working in the Central Motion Picture Corporation (中影股份有限公司) in the department for art and costume design in 1966. He won the 13th Golden Horse Award for best art direction in 1976 for ''Forever My Love'', directed by Pai Chingjui (白景瑞). He demonstrated his talent as a film director with his first feature, ''If I Were for Real'' (假如我是真的), which won him four awards, including Best Narrative Film, Best Leading Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay in the 18th Golden Horse Award in 1981. Between 1981 and 2015 he directed 13 feature films, 2 animation feature films, and 1 documentary. Huang Chun-ming (; born 13 February 1935) is a Taiwanese literary figure and teacher. Huang writes mainly about the tragic and sometimes humorous lives of ordinary Taiwanese people, and many of his short stories have been turned into films, including ''The Sandwich Man'' (1983). Taipei Film Festival
The Taipei Film Festival (TFF; ) is a film festival promoted by the city of Taipei, Taiwan, through the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Taipei City Government. It was first held in 1998, from September 28 to October 5. Li Han-hsiang
Richard Li Han-hsiang (; 7 March 1926 in Jinxi, Liaoning – 17 December 1996 in Beijing) was a Chinese film director. Li directed more than 70 films in his career beginning in the 1950s and lasting till the 1990s. His ''The Enchanting Shadow'', ''The Magnificent Concubine'', and '' Empress Wu Tse-Tien'' were entered into the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, 1962, and 1963 respectively. Li also won the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards for his work on the movie ''Xi Shi'' in 1965. Most of his movies in the 1970s and 1980s were Chinese historical dramas. Lee Hsing, or Li Hsing (; born ; 20 May 1930 – 19 August 2021) was a Taiwanese film director. He directed more than 30 films between 1959 and 1986. Li Zida was born in Shanghai in 1930, and settled in Taiwan in 1948, studying at National Taiwan Normal University. Li taught for one year, then became a reporter for the ''Independence Evening Post'', a newspaper published by his father , in 1954. Chen Yingzhen
Chen Yingzhen (; 8 November 1937 – 22 November 2016) was a Taiwanese author. Chen is also notable for having served a prison sentence for "subversive activity" between 1968 and 1973. He was active as writer from the late 1950s until his death in 2016. The ''Collected Works of Chen Yingzhen'' is 15 volumes long, and was published in 1988. Some of his stories were also included in Lucien Miller's ''Exiles at Home''. Biography Chen Yingzhen was born Chen Yongshan in northern Taiwan, the son of a devout Christian minister. Despite this, he never was a Christian himself while growing up. He was raised in what became Zhunan, Miaoli, with a twin brother, who died in 1946. Chinese Civil War
The Chinese Civil War was fought between the Kuomintang-led government of the Republic of China and forces of the Chinese Communist Party, continuing intermittently since 1 August 1927 until 7 December 1949 with a Communist victory on mainland China.
