Wang Qi (athlete)
Wang Qi (born 10 February 2001) is a Chinese track and field athlete who competes in the hammer throw. He won the gold medal at the Athletics at the 2022 Asian Games – Men's hammer throw, 2022 Asian Games, in Hangzhou. Career Wang took up the hammer throw in 2013 in Yangzhou. He started at Nanjing Normal University in 2019. In June 2023, he set a new personal best throw of 75.33m in Kladno. In July 2023, he won gold at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships – Men's hammer throw, 2023 Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok with a throw of 72.13m. In August 2023, he won gold in the hammer throw at the 2023 Summer World University Games, 2023 University Games in Chengdu with a throw of 73.63 metres. Wang won the gold medal at the Athletics at the 2022 Asian Games – Men's hammer throw, 2022 Asian Games, held in Hangzhou on 30 September 2023. He triumphed with a throw of 72.97 meters. Wang Qi (; born 22 July 1949) is a Chinese materials scientist and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. She is a professor at Sichuan University and director of the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering. Biography Wang was born in Zigong, Sichuan, on 22 July 1949, during the Republic of China. She earned a bachelor's degree in 1982, a master's degree in 1984, and a doctor's degree in 1989, all from Chengdu University of Science and Technology (now Sichuan University). She joined the Chinese Communist Party in June 1984. She taught at Sichuan University since 1986, what she was promoted to associate professor in 1992 and to full professor in 1993. The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE, ) is the national academy of the People's Republic of China for engineering. It was established in 1994 and is an institution of the State Council of China. Wang Qi (; born 16 September 2010) is a Chinese rhythmic gymnast. She represents China in international competitions. Biography At the 2020 National Youth Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, 10-year-old Wang became the Chinese pre-junior champion. In 2023 she won all the gold medals at the Chinese Championships. She made her breakthrough as a junior in 2024, when she won gold in the all-around, silver with hoop and bronze with ribbon at the Asian Championships in Tashkent. In November she was selected for the Gymnasiade in Bahrain, winning gold in the all-around, with ball, clubs and ribbon. Since January 2025, she has been coached by Amina Zaripova. In May she was selected for the Asian Championships in Singapore as the sole representative of China among juniors.
