Wanderlust (American Band)
Wanderlust is an American power pop band of the mid-1990s based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formation Scot Sax, a native of Philadelphia, had been playing and writing songs since the age of 13, and had actually performed with Rob Bonfiglio a number of times. The lineup was filled by rhythm members Mark Levin on Bass guitar, bass and Jim Cavanaugh on Drum kit, drums, and Wanderlust was formed. ''Prize'' (1995) In 1994, the band began recording a Demo (music), demo at Tongue & Groove Studios in Philadelphia with engineer Mike Musmano. Before the demo was completed the band was signed with RCA Records, RCA. The full length album, ''Prize'', was released in April 1995 to positive critical reviews. In 1997 the band returned to the studio to record a second album, but was dropped from the label and the record was never completed. Wanderlust is a strong desire to wander or travel and explore the world. The term has its roots in German Romanticism. Etymology The first documented use of the term in English occurred in 1902 as a reflection of what was then seen as a characteristically German predilection for wandering that may be traced back to German Romanticism and the German system of apprenticeship (the journeyman), as well as the custom of adolescent wanderings in search of unity with nature. The term originates from the German words ('to hike') and ('desire'), literally translated as 'enjoyment of hiking', although it is commonly described as 'enjoyment of strolling, roaming about, or wandering'. The Mighty Manatees is an American band based in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Throughout a career spanning four decades, the band has performed in a wide range of styles including blues, reggae, country, folk, ska, funk, zydeco and rock 'n roll—distilled into a genre described as "Dreadneck", a term not easily defined. They have formerly been known by a variety of other stage names, including ''The Manatees'', and ''The Mighty Manatees Medicine Show''. Bridge To Terabithia (2007 Film)
''Bridge to Terabithia'' is a 2007 American fantasy drama film directed by Gábor Csupó (in his directorial debut) from a screenplay by David L. Paterson and Jeff Stockwell. It is based on the 1977 novel of the same name by Katherine Paterson and stars Josh Hutcherson, AnnaSophia Robb, Zooey Deschanel, and Robert Patrick. In the film, adolescent children Jess Aarons (Hutcherson) and Leslie Burke (Robb) create "Terabithia", a fantasy world, which they use to cope with their troubled reality and spend their free time together.
