Walter Fahrer (10 December 1939 – 1 March 2025) was an Argentine comic book author and illustrator. Life and career Born in Santa Fe on 10 December 1939, Fahrer began his professional career illustrating covers for the magazine ' in 1957. In 1962, he left Argentina for Europe alongside Hugo Pratt, writing stories for , ''L'Aurore'', ''Le Parisien'', and ''France-Soir''. He also wrote a police series published by Casterman Casterman is a publisher of Franco-Belgian comics, specializing in comic books and children's literature. Ugo Eugenio Prat (15 June 1927 – 20 August 1995), better known as Hugo Pratt, was an Italian comic book creator who was known for combining strong storytelling with extensive historical research on works such as '' Corto Maltese''. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2005, and was awarded the 15th anniversary special Grand Prix de la ville d'Angoulême at the Angoulême Festival. In 1946 Hugo Pratt became part of the so-called Group of Venice with Fernando Carcupino, Dino Battaglia and Damiano Damiani. ''L'Aurore'' was a French newspaper first sold on 11 September 1944, soon after the Liberation of Paris. Its name refers to the previous, unrelated publication, ''L'Aurore'' (1897–1914). Publication ended in 1985. During 1943, several issues of ''L'Aurore'' were published in secret by Robert Lazurick (a former member of the Front Populaire).
