Walter Rice Evans
Walter Rice Evans (10 September 1863 – 9 June 1909) was a Welsh international rugby union player, who won three caps between 1890 and 1891. Life Evans was born in Neath, Glamorgan. He was educated at Cowbridge Grammar School and Jesus College, Oxford, playing for Oxford University RFC and winning a "Blue" in 1890. He was a forward and represented the Wales national rugby union team on three occasions in the Home Nations Championship. His debut for Wales was on 1 February 1890 against Scotland. In the following season, he played against England and Scotland. He also played for Swansea (for whom he made his debut in 1889), Neath and London Welsh London Welsh Rugby Football Club ( cy, Clwb Rygbi Cymry Llundain) was a rugby union club formed in 1885. Walter Evans (footballer, Born 1867)
Walter Gwynne Evans (1867 – 10 May 1897) was a Welsh footballer who played as a full-back for English clubs, Bootle and Aston Villa in the 1890s. With Villa, he was on the losing side in the 1892 FA Cup Final. He made three appearances for Wales against England, each of which was a defeat. Football career Evans was born in Builth, Brecknockshire, the son of the local butcher. As a youth, he excelled at many sports including cricket, rugby and soccer. Having started his career with his local club, he moved to England in 1889 when he joined Bootle; Evans made four appearances for Bootle in the 1889–90 Football Alliance season at the end of which Bootle finished as runners-up. Evans made his international debut while still a Bootle player when he was called up for the British Home Championship match against England played at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground on 15 March 1890. Walter Evans (Bilbao Footballer)
Walter Evans was an English footballer who played as a striker for Athletic Club. He was one of the first pioneers of football in the Basque Country, standing out as a great striker for some of the earliest Basque clubs in existence such as Bilbao FC, Club Bizcaya, and Athletic Club, winning three back-to-back Spanish Cups between 1902 and 1904, and being the joint top scorer in the 1902 Copa de la Coronación with 5 goals. Walter Allan Evans (29 September 1897 – 15 January 1955) was an Australian sportsman who played first-class cricket for Western Australia and Australian rules football for Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Biography Although born in Queensland, Evans was brought up in the Western Australian goldfields. Australian rules football He captained a Boulder City schoolboy team while in the country and played with North Perth when he moved to the capital city during adolescence. When he made his WAFL debut with Perth in 1917 it was as a rover but he soon developed into a prolific full-forward, despite standing at only 170 cm. In 1921 he was the league's top goalkicker with 64 goals, despite Perth finishing with the wooden spoon. Walter Evans (September 18, 1842 – December 30, 1923) was a United States representative from Kentucky and a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Kentucky and of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. Education and career Born on September 18, 1842, in Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky, Evans attended the public schools near Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He moved to Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky and served as deputy county clerk in 1859. He served in the Union Army from 1861 to 1863. Walter Jenkin Evans (1 April 1856 – 10 February 1927) was a Welsh academic who served as Principal of Carmarthen Presbyterian College and who wrote about the history and people of Unitarianism in Carmarthen. Early life and education Evans was born on 1 April 1856 at Carmarthen, south Wales, the son of Rev Titus Evans. After schooling at Parc-y-felfed Preparatory School (also known as Parkyvelvet Academy) and at Queen Elizabeth's grammar school in Carmarthen. Sir Walter Harry Evans, 1st Baronet (19 May 1872 – 7 November 1954) was an English hydraulic engineer, politician, and public servant. Evans was born in Wolverhampton, son of Joseph Evans.Biography, ''Who Was Who'' He was a member of Staffordshire County Council for many years. In the 1920 New Year Honours, he was created a baronet, of Wightwick, near Wolverhampton, in the County of Stafford, for his services to the war savings committees during the First World War, with the letters patent being issued on 31 January 1920. Walter Evans Edge (November 20, 1873October 29, 1956) was an American diplomat and Republican Party (United States), Republican politician who served as the 36th governor of New Jersey, from 1917 to 1919 and again from 1944 to 1947, during both World War I and World War II.
