Walt Poddubny
Walter Michael Poddubny (February 14, 1960 – March 21, 2009) was a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger and coach who played eleven seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1981–82 until 1991–92. He played 468 career NHL games, scoring 184 goals and 238 assists for 422 points. Career Poddubny was drafted 90th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. He spent most of the 1981–82 season with the Wichita Wind where he had 35 goals and 46 assists in 60 games. He was traded along with Phil Drouillard from the Oilers to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Laurie Boschman on March 8, 1982. He was acquired by the New York Rangers from the Maple Leafs for Mike Allison on August 18, 1986, in a trade considered to be Phil Esposito's best during his three years as the team's general manager. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. Éric Dubois
Éric Dubois (born May 10, 1970) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played over 500 career games in the American Hockey League (AHL), International Hockey League (IHL) and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He is currently an assistant coach with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Bruce Bell
Bruce William Bell (born February 15, 1965) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Bell started his National Hockey League career with the Quebec Nordiques in 1984. He also played with the St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers. He was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 1985. As a youth, he played in the 1978 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Toronto. The 1987–88 New York Rangers season was the franchise's 62nd season. 1987–88 NHL Season
The 1987–88 NHL season was the 71st season of the National Hockey League. It was an 80-game season with the top four teams in each division advancing to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This season would see the Edmonton Oilers win their fourth Stanley Cup in five years by sweeping the Boston Bruins 4–0 in the Stanley Cup Final. Phil Esposito
Philip Anthony Esposito ( , ; born February 20, 1942) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, coach and executive, and current broadcaster for the Tampa Bay Lightning. A member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, he played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Black Hawks, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers, winning two Stanley Cups with Boston. Mike Allison
Michael Earnest Allison (born 28 March 1961) is a Canadian former ice hockey forward, and the brother of former player and coach Dave Allison. Playing career After playing hockey at the junior level for the Kenora Thistles, Allison caught the attention of the Sudbury Wolves, who made him their first draft pick in the 1978 OHL Draft. Playing on the left wing, Allison had an exceptional second season in Sudbury, achieving 95 points, on the strength of 71 assists, and was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Allison began his National Hockey League career the very next season in 1980–81, and his first season proved to be his most productive.
