Wale (rapper)
Olubowale Victor Akintimehin (born September 21, 1984), known professionally as Wale ( ), is an American rapper. He first became known for his 2006 song "Dig Dug (Shake It)", which became popular in his hometown of Germantown, Maryland and led Wale to gain further local recognition as he amassed a number of follow-up releases. He signed a recording contract with English DJ-producer Mark Ronson's Allido Records in 2007, which, after a three-label bidding war, entered a joint venture with Interscope Records for US$1.3 million the following year. During this time, Wale's mixtapes and singles saw national attention as he appeared on MTV and various Black America-focused magazines. Wale's debut studio album, ''Attention Deficit (album), Attention Deficit'' (2009) was under-shipped and thus underperformed commercially, but saw positive critical reception and spawned his first Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 entry with its lead single, "Chillin (Wale song), Chillin" (featuring ... Corduroy
Corduroy is a textile with a distinctively raised "cord" or wale texture. Modern corduroy is most commonly composed of tufted cords, sometimes exhibiting a channel (bare to the base fabric) between them. Both velvet and corduroy derive from fustian fabric. Corduroy looks as if it is made from multiple cords laid parallel to each other. Etymology A common false etymology holds that the word "corduroy" derives from the French phrase ''corde du roi'' or ''the cord of the king''. The word ''corduroy'' is from ''cord'' (i.e., rope) and '' duroy,'' which was a coarse woollen cloth made in England in the 18th century. Variations Corduroy is made by weaving extra sets of fibre into the base fabric to form vertical ridges called ''wales''. The wales are built so that clear lines can be seen when they are cut into pile. Corduroy is considered a durable cloth and is found in the construction of trousers, jackets, and shirts. The width of the wales varies between fabric styles and is spe ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Wale (ship Part)
A wale is one of the strakes of wooden planking that forms the outer skin of the hull of a ship, but substantially thicker than the other strakes. It provides extra stiffening and strength to the hull. It was a common feature of heavy wooden ship construction, particularly from the Middle Ages to the early years of the 19th century, being a major constructional component of ships like , and many earlier vessels. A wale (or "waler") is a horizontal supporting member of a concrete forming system, vertically reinforced by a "strongback". A wale is also a horizontal member of a geotechnical tieback wall, which transmits the force from the tieback to the beams. Cutaneous Conditions
A skin condition, also known as cutaneous condition, is any medical condition that affects the integumentary system—the organ system that encloses the body and includes skin, nails, and related muscle and glands. The major function of this system is as a barrier against the external environment. Conditions of the human integumentary system constitute a broad spectrum of diseases, also known as dermatoses, as well as many nonpathologic states (like, in certain circumstances, melanonychia and racquet nails). While only a small number of skin diseases account for most visits to the physician, thousands of skin conditions have been described. Classification of these conditions often presents many nosological challenges, since underlying causes and pathogenetics are often not known. Therefore, most current textbooks present a classification based on location (for example, conditions of the mucous membrane), morphology ( chronic blistering conditions), cause ( skin conditions ...
