The Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service is the public policy school of New York University in New York City, New York. The school is named after New York City former mayor Robert F. Wagner Jr. in 1989. History In 1938, NYU offered its first Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in response to overfilled public service-oriented classes at the university. Fifteen years later, NYU established a stand-alone school—the School for Public Service and Social Work. At around the same time, Robert Ferdinand Wagner Jr., as Mayor of New York City, worked to build public housing and schools, and established the right for city employees to collectively bargain. Sherry Glied
Sherry A. Glied (born 1961) is a Canadian-American economist. She is Dean of New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. From 2010 to 2012, she was Assistant Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services under the Obama administration. Career From 1992 to 1993, Glied worked as a senior economist at the Council of Economic Advisers where she specialized in healthcare and labor policy. The Austerity Program is a noise rock and alternative metal band that formed in New York City in 1997, founded by guitarist Justin Foley and bassist Thad Calabrese.
