Media Franchise
A media franchise, also known as a multimedia franchise, is a collection of related media in which several derivative works have been produced from an original creative work of fiction, such as a film, a work of literature, a television program, or a video game. Bob Iger, chief executive of the Walt Disney Company, defined the word ''franchise'' as "something that creates value across multiple businesses and across multiple territories over a long period of time." Transmedia franchise A media franchise often consists of cross-marketing across more than one medium. For the owners, the goal of increasing profit through diversity can extend the commercial profitability of the franchise and create strong feelings of identity and ownership in its consumers. Those large groups of dedicated consumers create the franchise's fandom, which is the community of fans that indulge in many of its media and are committed to interacting with and keeping up with other consumers. ''Wake, Rattle, and Roll'' (retitled ''Jump, Rattle, and Roll'' when it aired on The Disney Channel on weekday afternoons in 1991''The Disney Channel Magazine'', Vol. 9, no. 5, September/October 1991: pp. 20, 36, 45.) is an American live-action/animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and Four Point Entertainment that premiered in the fall of 1990. As the show's title suggests, Hanna-Barbera intended the show to air on its affiliated stations in a morning timeslot before school. The show's title was inspired by the song " Shake, Rattle and Roll". After its single season on the air in syndication, ''Wake, Rattle, and Roll'' moved exclusively to The Disney Channel under the title ''Jump, Rattle, and Roll'', with the title adjustment due to its repeats not being confined to mornings. ''Jump, Rattle, and Roll'' ran on The Disney Channel from October 7, 1991 to 1994, becoming the only Hanna-Barbera animated series ever to air on that network.''The Disney Chan ...

Wacky Races (1991 Video Game)
is a platform game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed and published by Atlus. The game is based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon ''Wacky Races'' and features Muttley and Dick Dastardly as the main characters. An unrelated Amiga and Atari ST game of the same name was released in 1991 and a racing game of the same name released in 2000. Gameplay The player controls Muttley through three different areas (Hip Hop, Splish Splash and Go Go America) which can be selected from a map screen, and all three must be completed to reach the game's ending. The first two areas have three stages each, while Go Go America has four. The player can jump and initially use a short-ranged bite attack, but by collecting bones, the player can swap them in a fashion reminiscent of the ''Gradius'' series for a bomb attack, a flying "bark shot", the ability to glide with Muttley's tail, and extra health. Each of the ten stages ends in a boss battle against one of the other ten racers. Defeatin ...

Penelope Pitstop
Penelope Pitstop is a fictional character who appeared in the 1968 Hanna-Barbera animated series '' Wacky Races'' and the spin-off '' The Perils of Penelope Pitstop'', and was voiced by Janet Waldo. She also appeared in the 2017 series of ''Wacky Races''. Background Penelope "Penny" Pitstop is a southern belle, and the only female racer in the original ''Wacky Races'' lineup, driving a pink car known as The Compact Pussycat which has personal grooming facilities that would sometimes backfire on other racers, such as shampoo foam hitting their faces. She always has time to relax and worry about her looks, because her car is like a beauty parlor. Penelope Pitstop also has a habit of holding her arm out in the breeze to dry newly applied nail polish, which the others mistake for a turn signal (this habit once sent the Roaring Plenty into a cactus). Peter Perfect had a crush on her, a feeling that was returned, and always tried to help her; in "Dash to Delaware", they almost en ...
