Rhythmic contemporary, also known as Rhythmic Top 40, Rhythmic CHR or rhythmic crossover, is a primarily American music-radio format that includes a mix of EDM, upbeat rhythmic pop, hip hop and upbeat R&B hits. Rhythmic contemporary never uses hard rock or country in its airplay, but it may occasionally use a reggae, Latin, reggaeton, or a urban contemporary gospel hit. WDJX (99.7 MHz) is a Top 40/CHR-formatted radio station located in Louisville, Kentucky. The station has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 24 kW. The station's studios are located in downtown Louisville and the transmitter site is in New Albany, Indiana. WDJX is owned by Alpha Media. Station history WKLO-FM signed on in August 1962 as the FM sister to WKLO AM 1080. Initially, the station simulcasted much of WKLO's Top 40 format, breaking off after 6 p.m. to air classical music and showtunes, but eventually segued into a full-time simulcast by the end of the 1960s. WSLM (1220 AM) is a full service radio station licensed to serve the community of Salem, Indiana. Programming consists of news and sports. The station is owned and operated by Rebecca L. White. WSLM 1220 AM is a Kentuckiana Affiliate for Purdue Sports and the Cincinnati Reds. There is a sister station, WSLM-FM. Rebecca L. White holds the license to the FM station as well. On June 2, 2014, WSLM 1220 AM became the new Kentuckiana home of the Rick and Bubba radio morning show. Interstate 265
Interstate 265 (I-265) is a Interstate Highway partially encircling the Louisville metropolitan area. Starting from I-65 in the southern part of Louisville, it runs through Jefferson County, Kentucky, crosses the Ohio River on the Lewis and Clark Bridge into Indiana, meets I-65 for a second time, and then proceeds westbound to terminate at the I-64 interchange. The entire Kentucky stretch of the road is cosigned with Kentucky Route 841 (KY 841). An additional stretch of freeway between U.S. Route 31W (US 31W)/ US 60/ KY 1934 and I-65 in the southern Louisville is solely designated as KY 841.
