WYCT (98.7 FM) is a radio station known as "Cat Country 98.7". The main studio is located at 7251 Plantation Road in Pensacola, Florida, and station serves Pensacola and the Mobile, Alabama area with a country format. Its studios are in Pensacola and its transmitter is located west of Muscogee, Florida just inside Alabama. History This new 100,000-watt FM radio station was built from the ground up in 2002-2003. The station was started on of raw timberland where a new tower in Baldwin County and an associated "hurricane proof" blockhouse were built. WYCT was debuted as Christmas Radio 98.7 in November 2003, and switched to Country music on December 26, 2003. Longtime General Manager Mary Hoxeng purchased WYCT & W233CM in 2021. WEBY
WEBY (1330 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a sports format. Licensed to Milton, Florida, United States, the station serves the Pensacola area. The station is currently owned by David Hoxeng, through licensee ADX Communications of Milton, LLC, and features programming from ESPN Radio. WEBY was initially established in 1954. Its license was revoked in 1972 after the station was challenged for violations of the Fairness Doctrine. Several applicants fought for the frequency; a new station began operating in the early 1980s as WSWL and WAVX and was then bought by the son of the owner of the previous WEBY license, which restored the WEBY call letters. WNRP (1620 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Gulf Breeze, Florida, and serving the Pensacola metropolitan area. The station broadcasts a news/talk radio format and is owned by ADX Communications of Escambia. The radio studios and offices are at 7251 Plantation Road in Pensacola. By day, WNRP is powered at 10,000 watts, with a non-directional signal. But to minimize interference at night to other stations, it reduces power to 1,000 watts. In November 2016, NewsRadio 1620 began simulcasting on FM using two 250-watt FM translators: W222BR at 92.3 in Pensacola and on W237BE at 95.3 (to serve I-10 & north) in Clear Springs, Alabama. WBSR (1450 AM), on-air as The Fan 101, is a United States radio station owned by Miracle Radio, Inc. Licensed to Pensacola, Florida, it currently airs a sports format. WBSR is the second oldest radio station in Pensacola and one of the first AM radio stations on the Florida Gulf Coast to add an FM translator. WBSR can be heard 24 hours a day at 1450 AM and 101.1 FM. It has been at the same location since 1946. History WBSR was a successful Top 40 radio station from the 1960s to the mid-80s. HD Radio (HDR) is a trademark for an in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital radio broadcast technology. It generally simulcasts an existing analog radio station in digital format with less noise and with additional text information.
