WWEV-FM (91.5 MHz) is a non-commercial Christian radio station licensed to Cumming, Georgia, and serving the Northeast Atlanta metropolitan area. It is owned by RLN Global, Inc. and calls itself Victory 91.5. The station has a contemporary Christian format with some Christian talk and teaching programs. WWEV-FM funds its operations by asking for listener donations and holding periodic fundraising drives on the air. The Victory 91.5 studios and offices are on Sawnee Drive in Cumming. The transmitter is off Tower Road on Sawnee Mountain. History Early years The station signed on the air on December 15, 1981. It was originally owned by the Curriculum Development Foundation and broadcast at only 220 watts. Sawnee Mountain
Sawnee Mountain is a low mountain between the piedmont and Appalachian foothills of the U.S. state of Georgia, north of Atlanta. Average rainfall/46.26in/yr/ average snowfall/5.7in/yr/. The name Sawnee Mountain actually refers to the entire ridge of approximately five miles (8 km) in length. At its summit, the elevation is above mean sea level, and is roughly above the surrounding terrain. The Sawnee Mountain range runs southwest to northeast, and consists of five knolls and three gaps (Chamblee, Sawnee, and Bettes). Located only a few miles north of Cumming, Georgia (the county seat), the mountain is the highest point in Forsyth county at 1,946 ft (593 m) above sea level. Cumming, Georgia
Cumming is a city and the county seat of Forsyth County, Georgia, United States, and the sole incorporated area in the county. It is a suburban city, and part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. In the 2020 census, the population is 7,318, up from 5,430 in 2010. Surrounding unincorporated areas with a Cumming mailing address have a population of approximately 100,000. Continental Singers, Inc (also simply called, "The Continentals") was an evangelical Christian nonprofit organization based in Ventura, California. It was founded in 1967 with a mission to, "Advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ around the world through music missions, leadership development and performing arts' ministries." It dissolved in 2011. The organization produced over 65 recorded music albums, including several musicals and well-known worship songs. The albums and related merchandise were distributed by volunteers who were assembled into various groups to travel together and stage free live performances of selected works. Doug Oldham (November 30, 1930 – July 21, 2010) was an American Southern Gospel singer and a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Early years Oldham was the son of Dr. Dale Oldham, a minister in the Church of God. His grandfather was also a clergyman. He nearly died from pneumonia as a child. Musical career Oldham was a musical performer for more than 60 years, with 64 albums to his credit, often traveling and performing with his wife Laura Lee.
