WRHS (103.1 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Grasonville, Maryland, broadcasting mainly to the Annapolis / Anne Arundel County area and the Eastern Shore of Maryland on 103.1 FM. Owned by Peter & John Radio Fellowship, Inc., WRHS rebroadcasts the Christian adult contemporary format of co-owned WRBS-FM, which is branded on-air as Bright-FM. WRBS-FM (95.1 MHz, "BRIGHT-FM") is a radio station in Baltimore, Maryland, serving the Baltimore metropolitan area. Wilco
Wilco is an American alternative rock band based in Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 1994 by the remaining members of alternative country group Uncle Tupelo following singer Jay Farrar's departure. Wilco's lineup changed frequently during its first decade, with only singer Jeff Tweedy and bassist John Stirratt remaining from the original incarnation. Since early 2004, the lineup has been unchanged, consisting of Tweedy, Stirratt, guitarist Nels Cline, multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone, keyboard player Mikael Jorgensen, and drummer Glenn Kotche. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Alternative rock acts achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with the likes of the grunge, shoegaze, and Britpop subgenres in the United States and United Kingdom, respectively. During this period, many record labels were looking for "alternatives", as many corporate rock, hard rock, and glam metal acts from the 1980s were beginning to grow stale throughout the music industry. Active rock stations play a balance of new hard rock songs with valued classic rock favorites, normally with an emphasis on the harder edge of mainstream rock and album-oriented rock.
