Origins The 93.5 frequency in Wellsville was previously used by WJQZ, now at 103.5 MHz. WQRW was intended to be a repeater for WQRS, a classic rock station known on air as "Q Rock", when its construction permit was filed in fall 2006. Wellsville is a Town and largest community in Allegany County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town had a population of 7,099. Wellsville is centrally located in the south half of the county, north of the Pennsylvania border. Wellsville is also the name of the main village within this town. The village and the town have two separate, paid governments. Alfred State College maintains a branch campus in the town, with the main campus in Alfred east. WBRR (100.1 FM) is a radio station in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The station, operated by sister station WESB, is a classic-leaning mainstream rock format station branded as "100.1 The Hero" (HERO being a previous acronym for High Energy Rockin' Oldies). WBRR is also carried on the audio feed of Atlantic Broadband channel 11 in the Bradford and Salamanca/ Little Valley, NY areas. All staff is shared with WESB. For most of the 1990s and early 2000s, WBRR was an oldies/classic hits outlet known as "Cool 100". Olean ( ) is a city in Cattaraugus County, New York, United States. Olean is the largest city in Cattaraugus County and serves as its financial, business, transportation and entertainment center. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1978.
