WPWT is owned and operated by Kenneth Clyde Hill. History This station signed on the air in 1984. Prior to its sign-on, it had been assigned the call letters WIKV by the FCC. Since these calls were deemed by constructing supervisor Dave Murray (husband of Martha Murray, the original licensee) to be too close to the calls of a prominent FM in the market, WIKQ, the calls were changed, to WPRQ. WHGG (1090 AM) is a Contemporary Christian formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Kingsport, Tennessee, serving the Tri-Cities, VA/ TN area. History This station signed on the air in 1967 with call letters WGOC and a modern-Nashville-country music format. The original owner was insurance mogul J.T. Parker, and the first station manager was Phil Roberts, who was hired away from crosstown station WKIN where he had been a popular morning host. The first song played on the air on the morning of sign-on was I Washed My Face In The Morning Dew by Tom T. Hall. WABN is an oldies and classic hits-formatted non-commercial radio station licensed to Abingdon, Virginia. WWL (870 kHz) is a U.S. AM radio station in New Orleans, Louisiana, owned by Audacy, Inc. The station has a talk radio format with sports talk at night. Studios are at the 400 Poydras Tower in the New Orleans Central Business District. WWL is a clear channel station, operating with 50,000 watts around the clock from a transmitter site in Estelle, Louisiana. The daytime signal provides at least secondary coverage to large parts of the Gulf Coast, with city-grade coverage reaching as far east as Pensacola, Florida, and as far west as Lafayette, Louisiana. Warrior's Path State Park
Warriors' Path State Park is a 950-acre (3.84 km²) Tennessee State Park in Colonial Heights, Kingsport, Sullivan County, Tennessee, in the United States. It is named for the Great Indian Warpath that was used by the Iroquois in war raids with the Cherokee and other tribes. The park is located around the Fort Patrick Henry Reservoir and Duck Island on the South Fork Holston River. This land was acquired from the Tennessee Valley Authority in 1952.
