WPJB (1420 AM) was a radio station in Providence, Rhode Island, which began broadcasting in 1941. It was deleted in 1954 after its owner, the '' Providence Journal-Bulletin'', purchased a second local station, WEAN, because contemporary Federal Communications Commission ownership rules had a limit of a single local station on the AM band. WWLI (105.1 FM), branded Lite 105, is an American commercial radio station licensed to Providence, Rhode Island. The station is owned by Cumulus Media and broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format, switching to Christmas music for much of November and December, including the days between Christmas Day and New Years Eve. The radio studios are on Wampanoag Trail in East Providence. WWLI has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts, the maximum for FM stations in Rhode Island. WBSM (1420 AM) is a radio station broadcasting in the New Bedford– Fall River market area with a news/ talk/sports format. WBSM is under ownership of Townsquare Media, with studios in Fairhaven shared with WFHN. News and weather WBSM had a five-person news team in 2016, headed by Taylor Cormier. Anchors and reporters were Cormier, Tim Weisberg, Greg Desrosiers, Jim Phillips and Jim Marshall.
