WPID
WPID (1280 AM, "E-Z 1280") was a radio station licensed to serve Piedmont, Alabama, United States. The station, established in 1953, was owned by Piedmont Radio Company. Programming WPID broadcast an adult contemporary music format. Along with its usual music programming, WPID was the Piedmont affiliate of the Fox News Radio network, Dick Bartley's ''Rock'n'Roll's Greatest Hits'', Dick Bartley's ''American Gold'', and '' American Top 20 with Casey Kasem''. Each Friday night in high school football season, WPID broadcast each Piedmont High School football game live. Other sporting events that WPID carried included opening day baseball for the Piedmont Parks and Recreation Department and occasional high school basketball games. Rhubarb Jones
Warren "Rhubarb" Jones (August 9, 1951 – April 2, 2017) was an American DJ at WYAY "Eagle 106.7" in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the longest running morning radio personality in the Atlanta radio market, having been at the 106.7 spot on the FM dial from January 1985 to February 29, 2008. Life and career Warren Jones was born in Miami and grew up in Tallapoosa, Georgia. His first job in radio was at WPID in Piedmont, Alabama. He worked his way through West Georgia College by working in radio at WWCC in Bremen, Georgia. Upon graduation, Rhubarb moved to Columbus, Georgia and worked at WCLS. He later got into country music radio when he moved to WSKY AM in Asheville, North Carolina. Piedmont, Alabama
Piedmont is a city in Calhoun and Cherokee counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. The population was 4,400 at the 2020 census. It is included in the Anniston-Oxford, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is approximately one and a half hours west of Atlanta, Georgia via US Hwy 278, one and a half hours northeast of Birmingham, 20 minutes north of Anniston, Alabama via AL-21, and 25 minutes east of Gadsden, Alabama via US Hwy 278. Anniston, Alabama
Anniston is the county seat of Calhoun County in Alabama and is one of two urban centers/principal cities of and included in the Anniston-Oxford Metropolitan Statistical Area. ''The Rick and Bubba Show'' is an American comedy radio show based in Birmingham, Alabama. Nationally syndicated and produced at WZZK-FM, the show is live every weekday for five hours and is hosted by Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba" Bussey. The Rick and Bubba Radio Show The radio program began on January 8, 1994. On February 11, 2008, the broadcast location of the show moved to the "Rick and Bubba Broadcast Plaza and Teleport" in Vestavia Hills, which houses the studio as well as management offices for the show.
