WPFR (1480 kHz) is a Christian AM radio station licensed to Terre Haute, Indiana. The station is owned by American Hope Communications, Inc. History The station began broadcasting January 6, 1948, and originally held the call sign WTHI. The station ran 1,000 watts 24 hours a day. In 1970, the station's daytime power was increased to 5,000 watts.
